Alex Vigil Apparel (AVA)
Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Alex Vigil was raised in a family that fostered both creativity and a strong work ethic. Surrounded by his two brothers and inspired by his mother’s passion for the arts and his father’s commitment to hard work, Alex developed a deep appreciation for both nature and artistic expression. His love for fashion began in childhood, with an early interest in clothing and costume design, influenced by his family’s heritage and his father’s love of sports. Drawing from his Spanish and Native American roots, Alex combines traditional motifs with modern design, creating unique silhouettes that blend historical techniques with contemporary aesthetics. His work is driven by sustainability, seeking to push the boundaries of fashion while honoring the natural world. With every piece, Alex aims to inspire others and leave a positive impact on both the earth and the people who experience his art.
Anew from Fire and Flood is a multi-faceted collection by designer Alex Vigil that explores the contrast between fire and water—both destructive and healing forces. Inspired by the recent devastation in Ruidoso, where the Mescalero Apache tribe was affected, the collection reflects resilience and recovery. Although not directly impacted, Vigil feels a deep responsibility to support the community's healing process.
